It's been awhile

Sorry it has been so long since we have posted anything. I told Amy that I wouldn't write anything until she posted something. I have decided that we may never post anything again if I wait for her. She is so busy with work that I thought I better start up again.

Health update:
Abigail is fine, Lucas is fine, Amy is fine (she never got sick), and I have gotten my cough back. In the usual European way, my doctor is on holiday for the month of June. I could go see someone else but I am holding out to go see the guy I started with. I hope I make it.

I know it has been a month since the last post and some of you may be wondering what we have been up to. Quickly - Not Much. We have been getting the house set up. Here are some pictures. It takes work to go out and buy almost everything new. We still need to hang pictures and get the little knick-knacks but I think I will leave most of that to Amy. She seems to enjoy it.

Abigail has been accepted into a Dutch Daycare for three days a week starting July 2nd. We are starting her transition June 18th through June 29th. So far she loves it but her biggest question is "what are they saying". This will free me up to look for work and get some things done around the house that need to get done. She is definitely fitting into the European life style. She loves to go to the corner shop and get her croissant, sausage, and fruit for lunch. Yesterday we were at the park and there is a large fountain. All the local kids were in the fountain so Abigail started to take off her dress and she was determined to get in. I gave in, stripped her down to her skivvies and let her at them. The smile on her face made it all worth it. She wants to hang with the big girls all the time and follows them around like a faithful follower. I think it is because the older kids try to involve her but the kids her age just don't bother.

I have been working with the Dutch government to get my work permit. I was told in a letter (all in Dutch) that I had three weeks to send them a letter from the local town hall stating that I was registered and I had my marriage registered. Two days before my time was out the government finally registered Amy and I as married. I think I should have a work permit in "two to four weeks". Sound familiar. I have also started my Dutch language classes. "Ik ben een Amerikaan" or I am an American. Big stuff from the first lesson. At this rate by the time I am ready to go back to the states I will have the language down. Abigail better learn fast so she can help me.
